Past Projects
Luke started his first band in 7th grade and has been creating music ever since. He has played all over North America and is grateful for the many connections he has made through music.

2010-2012,
2015
Abigail Williams
Initially Luke joined as the drum tech and merchperson during the In The Absence Of Light tour in 2010 with Immolation and Vader. He was asked to be the live bassist in 2011-2012, performing songs from the Becoming album alongside Mayhem, Deicide, and Lecherous Nocturne. A drum performance by Luke appears on the song "Will, Wish, and Desire" on the 2015 album The Accuser (Candlelight Records).
2013-2020
Conjuror
Joined in 2013 as the drummer for Conjuror, based in Los Angeles. Luke worked with songwriters Edward Taylor Appleson and Sean Bonilla Boston to develop existing songs into an energetic live concert, performing locally plus special appearances at Kansas City Blackdeath Fest I & II. Luke was the audio engineer, arranger, and drummer for the independently published records Fight Or Yield (2016) and Spiritus Levate (2020),

2012-present
Light Being
Light Being is commonly known as the solo project of Luke Wotawa, on whose self-recorded albums are made by playing every instrument, lyrics, and vocals. Atmospheric black metal blends with doom-industrial and themes of meditation and shamanism, the 2021 album A Way Into Dreams features cellist collaborator Christopher Edward Brown (aka Kakophonix) whom he met while touring as bassist for Abigail Williams in 2012.
2010-2012, 2017-2019
Burning Child
Admittedly the worst band name ever, mainly because of the grisly mental image it evokes, this death metal project was founded in 2012 by Luke and his brother Griffin, who also toured with Abigail Williams, and co-wrote many songs performing together as Descent of The Dead. The early days of their musical collaborations earned them a reputation for technical proficiency, catchy melodies, and unhinged lyrics making for a memorable concert experience. Burning Child reformed in 2018 with members of P.O.O.R. and Inherit Disease, and Luke switched from vocals to drums for a few concerts in Oxnard and Ventura.
